Dringhouses Dump ‘Foss Reserves out of Cup
Dringhouses Reserves 12-0 Wilberfoss AFC
Yew Tree Associates Wilberfoss AFC Reserves travelled to Dringhouses Reserves in cup action at the weekend and it soon became one to forget as they were on the wrong end of a 12-0 defeat.
It all started badly with Dringhouses scoring inside the first 2 minutes and this was just a sign of what was to come during a long afternoon. Before the clock had even hit 15 minutes they were 4-0 down with ‘Foss possession of the football poor. As the half grew ‘Foss did manage to stop the rot of goals however another two quick fire goals before the half time whistle blew made the score 6-0 going into the break.
Manager Paul Jacques was pretty much lost for words and as voices were all trying to be heard, the lads knew the game had gone and it was a case of making the score-line respectable.
For the first 10 minutes ‘Foss gained a foot on the ball and started to play in patches some good controlled football that they know they can play. But unfortunately another goal came and the floodgates opened again for the second half. As the score line was reversed in the second half and with Dringhouses No.10 adding to his tally.
With ‘Foss only having 12 players again and a few players picking up knocks it became a last twenty minutes where the players and management were keen for the final whistle and put the game behind them. The game finally ended with the score at 12-0 and a day that was straight away forgotten and put to bed. Manager Paul Jacques didn’t have anything to say after the game apart from move on and get back to winning ways in the East Riding Cup next week.
