I would like to go on record to sincerely thank Brian for all the hard work he has done for this great club over the last 30 years. Most people don’t understand the time and work he has put into this club and it certainly wouldn’t be where it is today without him. We worked very closely together last season and I believe we have lost a superb member of the the Wilberfoss AFC ‘team’, not just in his capacity as First Team Manager but also the abundance of unseen work he did behind the scenes.’ Newby went on to say ‘Following discussions with Assistant Manager Kieron O’Brien we have agreed that he will take over as First Team Manager with immediate effect and we are currently in discussions with a number of people to replace his previous assistant role. I would like to welcome Kieron to the role and he has my upmost faith and backing in continuing to build on last seasons fantastic foundations’
Finally on behalf of the club we would like to thank Brian for all his time and effort over the last 30 years which has brought some memorable times to the club and we wish him and his wife Liz all the best for the future.
